Our Commitment

We are committed to making visitburnhamoncrouch.info accessible to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

This statement applies to the website at visitburnhamoncrouch.info. It was prepared on 10 October 2026.

What We Have Done

  • All images include descriptive alt text
  • Colour contrast meets WCAG 2.1 AA standards for normal and large text
  • All interactive elements are keyboard-navigable
  • Navigation landmarks (header, main, footer, nav) are correctly labelled
  • Headings follow a logical hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3)
  • Forms include associated labels for all inputs
  • Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements
  • The site is fully responsive and usable on mobile devices
  • Semantic HTML is used throughout

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:

  • Some embedded map content (Google Maps iframe) may not be fully accessible to screen reader users. We recommend using the text-based directions on the Getting Here pages as an alternative.
  • Some older stock photography may have limited descriptive alt text — we are reviewing these on an ongoing basis.

This website relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1:

  • HTML5

  • JavaScript (React)
  • WAI-ARIA where appropriate
